72778: Antique Bronze of Nude Andromeda & The Sea Monster - $7,500.00

Beautiful antique bronze sculpture depicting Andromeda chained to the rock. The sea monster is emerging from the water about to devour her. This is an exquisite classical rendition of Andromeda. This beautiful sculpture is 21 inches tall and 16 inches wide from her knee to her elbow. It has its original medium brown patina and is in excellent, original, condition. Weight 32 lbs. This is the classical version of Andromeda and dates circa 1880s. Bronzes like this were made in the last quarter of the 19th century as miniaturizations of life-size marble and bronze sculptures. These pieces were categorized as Grand Tour bronzes, they were not signed. This is the most beautiful and well detailed sculpture of Andromeda lying in wait chained to a rock about to be devoured by the sea monster just before Persius appears to rescue her, slay the sea monster, marry her and start a new chapter in the mythological lives of Andromeda and Persius.

Large and extremely well sculptured bronze Brahma Bull signed Huber. The bronze is mounted on a custom wood base reflecting the bronze base that is part of the sculpture. The bull is extremely lifelike and very well detailed. From the bottom of the base to the top of the bull's horn it measures 9-1/2 inches. The bronze sculpture without the base measures 7-1/2 inches tall by 11-1/2 inches wide. With the base it measures 9-1/2 inches tall by 13-1/4 inches wide. The sculpture is in excellent original condition. The bronze has a rich patina and is artist signed Huber.

Superb antique gilt bronze of a baby Bacchus pouring wine into a panthers mouth. This is a beautiful and very rare antique gilt bronze by Charles Cumberworth a listed French Sculptor 1811-1852. This is one his best works. The Bacchus figure and the panther are so well sculptured they look alive. The bronze measures 7-3/4 inches high, 5-1/2 inches wide and 4-1/2 inches deep. The back of the base is inscribed Cumberworth. The bronze is mounted on a deluxe antique marble base with a gilt bronze under plate. Bases of this quality were only used on special bronzes made for expositions and presentation pieces. It is in superb condition and guaranteed to please the most particular connoisseur or collector. Beautiful pair of antique Art Deco bronze French clowns signed Lipchytz. The woman is blowing kisses and thanking the audience for their applause as the male clown moves closer to put his hand up her dress making the audience laugh even more. Both clowns are costumed with clown clothes circa 1900. They are both beautifully detailed and in excellent condition. Each sculpture is inscribed S. Lipchytz and date circa 1920s. The female clown measures 8-3/4 inches high. Her base measures 3 inches wide, 2-1/4 inches deep, and 2 inches high. The male clown measures 8-1/4 inches high. His base measures 3-3/4 inches long, 2-1/4 inches wide, and 2 inches high. Combined weight 5 lbs. They are very animated and very well sculptured. Beautiful pair of antique Vienna bronze boys signed Kauba. Kauba and Bergman are considered the finest sculptors of Vienna bronzes. This high quality, exceptionally well detailed pair, reflects the extraordinary talents of this wonderful Vienna bronze sculptor. The expression on one of the little boys faces seems angry, his fists are clenched. The other little boy is looking at him with his hands by his side, as if to say 'what's going on with you'? Both pieces are inscribed Kauba they are on their original rouge marble bases. Both are in excellent condition. They measure 7 inches from the bottom of the base to the top of their heads. Not including the marble bases, the bronzes measure 6-1/2 inches high. The rouge marble bases measure 2-3/4 inches wide x 2-3/8 inches deep x 5/8 inch high. They have a very lovely light to medium chocolate brown patina. These are quite rare and could be used as a pair of bookends if one so desired. It has 2 marble vases that match the clock and will look lovely on either side of the clock when placed on a mantle or desk top. This is a beautiful Art Deco clock set in excellent condition. Exquisite circa 1800 French gilt bronze clock with 2 cherubs. The clock has a silk suspension movement dating it circa 1800. It has its original pendulum and key, as well as an extra key. The clock is in excellent condition. There are two cherubs seated at the top of the clock. One is holding a writing utensil with his left elbow leaning against a book. The cherub on his right looks at him to get his attention. The quality and composition are exquisite. The clock measures 20-1/2 inches high, 17-1/4 inches wide, and 6 inches deep. As you face the clock, the cherub on the left measures 10-1/2 inches from the top of his head to the tip of his right toe. The cherub on the right measures 10-1/2 inches tall from his right toe to the top of his head. She measures 13 inches high to the top of her wrist. Not including the base, she measures 9-1/8 inches high. The polished onyx base measures 3-1/4 inches wide, 4 inches deep, and 4 inches high. Weight 7-1/2 lbs. Overall excellent condition showing some minor rubbing to the patina. She may have been holding a wand or long stick, something was in her hand a one time. Beautiful antique Art Deco nude bronze dancer inscribed Lipchytz at the base. This is a great composition showing the freedom, form, and motion associated with the Art Deco movement. She is nude with her head back, arms outstretched, and dancing on her toe with her other foot raised high in the air. Not exactly a modest pose but a very beautiful composition. Samuel Lipchytz is an important listed Art Deco sculptor who created some wonderful compositions during the peak of the Art Deco movement 1915-1930. This example measures 15-1/2 inches from the bottom of polished onyx base to the top of her wrist. Excluding the base she measures 11-1/4 inches. Weight 11 lbs. She has a medium chocolate brown patina with very little rubbing. Overall excellent condition. She has a very sweet and peaceful face and seems very happy dancing, unrestricted by clothing or shoes. One corner of the onyx base has a barely noticeable smoothed out chip. Guaranteed to please as are all our items.

Beautiful antique Austrian bronze sculpture depicting a helmeted solider wearing only his boots belt and helmet, standing with his arms folded and looking away from a begging nude slave girl asking for his attention. She seems very focused on wanting him to look at her, but his posture and expression show no interest. This is a very rare Vienna bronze sculptured by a well listed Austrian artist Lorenzl. The bronze dates from the first quarter of the 20th century. It is in excellent condition and a very unusual composition. The bronze measures 11 inches high including its marble base. The sculpture alone not including the base measures 9-1/4 inches high. Weight 4 lbs. The nude lady has a beautiful face and body. The nude soldier has a handsome face and muscular body. 72833: Antique Bergman Vienna Bronze Erotica Mechanical Lamp - $8,800.00

Beautiful and rare antique Vienna bronze Bergman erotica mechanical lamp. The lamp depicts a lady walking on steps covered with a Persian carpet. She holds the lamp base in her hand that has a heart shaped arp with a dangling Orientalist slag glass lantern. The top of the lamp is reticulated, similar to other Orientalist lamps. She holds her night gown close to her body. If you take your finger and gently pull the night gown towards you it opens like a door revealing the beautiful nude lady's body that was covered by the night gown. The bronze and lamp are both in excellent condition. It's mounted on its original marble base. Although it is working fine, I would suggest rewiring it to ensure no electrical problems. It does work but this is old wiring and I do not know how much longer it will be safe to use. The lamp measures 15-3/4 inches high. The diameter of the base is 3 inches. Not including the marble base, the bronze lamp by itself measures 15 inches high to the top of the finial. This is a very rare model, the first we have owned or seen. 72839: Antique Bergman Vienna Bronze Mechanical Musical Lamp - $25,000.00

Extremely rare and quite possibly unique antique signed Bergman Vienna bronze erotica mechanical musical lamp. What's really special about this lamp is when you press the button the first time it opens the lamp and then when you press the button again it becomes a music box playing When You Are in Love. When you press the button a third time it plays another love song. We have seen examples of this lamp sell in the past but know of no others that play 2 different songs when you push the button. When you push the button the first time the doors spring open revealing a couple in 18th century dress in an interior scene. The man is kneeling on a Persian carpet next to his beautiful girlfriend. She is lying on a daybed or chaise lounge with her dress pulled down just below her breasts. The title of this rare bronze is The Proposition. You can use your imagination to determine why he is on his knees talking to her. The subjects are extremely well sculptured and have their original polychrome cold painted patina, no repainting or any condition issues. This is unquestionably the finest example of this model extant. When the door springs open it also lights up the couple inside. When the tent is closed t shows a sweet cherub holding one end of the tent ready for the viewer to inspect and be delighted with the contents. This is a unique example playing two love songs. The cold paint patina is the best we have seen on any example of this rare antique Vienna bronze lamp. It is guaranteed to please the most particular collector or connoisseur. This the highest quality and finest example known.
