70617: 2 Peking Glass Seated Figures - $124.00 Two Peking glass seated figures. One is a Buddha measuring 2 1/4 inches high, 2 1/2 inches wide, 1 3/4 inches deep. The other is a little seated boy measuring 1 7/8 inches high, 1 1/4 inches wide, 1 1/4 inches deep. The measurement do not include the carved wood stand the little boy is seated on. Both pieces are in excellent original condition. Guaranteed to please as are all our items. 70618: 3 Carved Hardstone Netukes 2 Birds & A Fly - $160.00 Three carved hardstone Netsukes, 2 birds and 1 fly. The birds have a hole drilled through their head and coming out the bottom to be used as Netsukes. The fly has two holes drilled near its head. It may be used as Netsuke or as a pendant. The fly measures 1 3/4 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide by 3/8 inch high. The birds measure 1 1/8 inches high, 1 1/2 inches wide and 1 inch deep. All three pieces are in excellent original condition. Guaranteed to please as are all our items. 72138: Antique Carved Alabaster Putto Fountain Lamp Sculpture - $1,870.00 Beautiful antique carved alabaster sculpture artist signed M.A. Maffei. This artist is listed as an Italian sculptor working in the early 1900's. The sculpture depicts a beautiful sculptured Putto sitting on a rock work base, One hand holds the fountain. The fountain head is a half man/half wolf mythological face that has water flowing from its mouth. The Putto is washing his foot in the water. The sculpture can be adapted to be used as a lamp. The fountain has a hole drilled thru the center, and the column to the right of the Putto is removable making it easy for adaption to lighting. Weight 20 lbs. The sculpture measures 16-1/2 inches high, and 7-3/4 inches widest width. The Putto by itself measures 11 inches from the bottom of the foot to the top of its head. The Buddha is extremely well carved and looks alive. The carved stone resembles Jade. It is very cold to the touch and has good weight. There is another figure in the sculpture holding a sword. The detail of the carving and the unusual subject make this a very desirable piece for any Asian ivory collector or collector of unusual antiques. The head depicts a bearded Orientalist man with a turban. From the bottom of his neck to the top of his headpiece he measures 12 inches. From the tip of his nose to the back of his head he measures 9 inches. The head is life-size. The back has a hanging metal ring allowing it to be hung on a wall. It hangs flush against the wall and actually looks alive. It has a few minor chips on the back where it meets the wall, unseen when it is hung on the wall. This is a rare item dating circa 1900. The bottom on the underside is numbered 4914 and marked BB. The sculpture is in mint condition with almost all of its original cold paint patina finish intact. It dates circa 1900. This is a very rare and beautifully sculptured Black Americana Collectible item. He measures 8 inches from his hand to the back of his foot. Widest width 3 inches from his shoulder to his elbow. Height to the brim of his hat 3-3/4 inches. The little boys face is so beautifully detailed and sculptured that he looks alive, you'd expect smoke to be coming out his mouth. Her hair is styled in the manner of the ancient Greek and Roman Classical Lady sculptures. Her face is beautifully carved. She is in excellent condition and rests on a lavendar octagonal variegated alabaster base. She measures 6-1/2 inches from the bottom of the base to the top of her hair. The base mesures 6-1/2 inches wide 3-3/8 inches deep and 1/2 inch high. Weight 3.5 lbs. The bottom of the base has an inset metal plaque with the letters RM, may be the seal of the merchant store that sold this sculpture 100 years ago. The lady's face is beautifully sculptured, very lifelike showing great detail. Her hair is tied back in a bun. She has a very peaceful look about her. She is in excellent condition guaranteed to please the most particular collector or connoisseur. 73123: Beautiful Antique Carved Wood Cherub Hanging Wall Shelf - $700.00 Beautiful antique circa 1900 carved wood cherub wall shelf. It has two eyes at the back with a wire connected enabling the new owner to hang it on the wall and place a sculpture, vase or anything they like on the shelf. The cherub has a beautiful happy face and is extremely well carved. In his left hand he supports the shell shaped wall shelf, the other portion is secured by his head. The cherub has beautifully carved wings and is in overall excellent condition with the exception of the very tip of the top right wing having a miniscule loss and the cherub's left foot missing it's big toe. We have taken good pictures enabling you to click and enlarge any picture to se detail and composition of this unusual hanging wall shelf. This looks like the style referred to as Italian Fantasy Furniture but it may be German or Austrian. Widest width at the top of the shelf is 11 inches. The cherub measures 13-1/2 inches from head to toe. It measures 14 inches from the top of the shelf to the bottom of the cherubs foot. There is also a book under the child's left foot. This magnificent statue measures 20 inches tall by 7-1/2 inches wide. This is an extremely well carved and lifelike antique marble statue. No signature is apparent. Marble statues of this age and quality are extremely rare. The statue looks English or may even be American. Excellent condition. 73140: Exquisite Pair French Porcelain Cherub Handled Vases - $10,000.00 Exquisite pair of antique Paris porcelain extremely decorative and beautiful vases. The vases have Putto fully sculptured handles. The Putto are standing on a beautifully sculptured lady's head. The vases are further enhanced with 2 scenes, 1 depicting cherubs as musicians and the other 1 depicting cherubs as painters. The one depicting cherubs as painters has 3 cherubs, 2 painting and 1 modeling. The other vases have a circumference of 26 inches. These are beautiful museum quality vases. Each vase has a blue lozenge maker's mark on the bottom that reads HA&Cie. They're also marked by the retailer in New York Princeton Brothers Brooklyn who imported and sold this pair. For the most part the vases are in excellent condition showing some paint loss to the gilding along the bottom border and neck of the vases. The painted cherubs are beautifully hand painted with lovely colors. This is an extraordinary Paris porcelain pair of antique vases with a magnificent design and superb color combination. This pair of vases were appraised at $25,000.00 from the estate we purchased them in. They are a unique pair that will surely delight their new owner. They will be professionally and expertly packed to ensure perfect delivery to the buyer. 72929: Large Antique Gilt Iron German Shield Battling Warriors - $970.00 Beautiful antique high relief sculptured gilt iron shield with a horned mythological lion like high relief sculptured head at the very bottom. On either side are 2 seated figures one looks like an angel the other looks like Father Time. The central portion has battling warriors on horseback with shields, spears, and swords. Please click any picture for enlargements of details. The shield measures 20 inches high by 17 inches wide. From the back of the shield to the high relief sculptured top it measures 3 inches deep. Weight 21.75 lbs. The back of the shield has a very secure hanging device or it may be attached to a wood backing if one so desires. The back has an oval maker's mark and reads Musterschutz 5736. Musterschutz is a patent name for German pieces similar to Geschutz that we see on Austrian and Vienna bronzes. The shield is in mint condition guaranteed to please as are all our items. 55616: Pr. of Antique Patinated Metal Bookends YOUTH - $115.00 Beautiful pair of antique patinated metal sculptured bookends of young men portrait busts. They are titled YOUTH. They have a lovely bronze patina, but are actually made of white metal. They have good weight and an interesting design. The condition is excellent. These date from the early 1900's. They are signed and numbered on the back. Both are in excellent condition. Height 4-1/2 inches, width 3 inches, depth 2-1/2 inches. 70624: Rare Carved Goldstone Seated Buddha - $493.00 Rare Carved Goldstone seated Buddha. The Buddha is very well carved. It has a peaceful serene look as it sits in a meditative state. This is the largest piece of carved Goldstone we have seen. The Buddha measures 4 inches high, 2 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches deep. It is in excellent condition. It appears a little piece on the side of the nose was not carved out , it is smooth and was obviously carved that way. This is a very rare carving. Guaranteed to please as are all our items. 72779: The Alchemist By E. HEBERT 19th Century Metal Sculpture - $2,500.00 Rare and wonderful sculpture by E. HEBERT The Alchemist. This is a beautiful 19th century bronzed white zinc sculpture by Edmond Ernest Hebert born 1824. Hebert created very unusual and interesting sculptures. This is the finest example of an alchemist I have had the pleasure to see. It depicts the alchemist intent with his work using his eye magnification to study the effects of his chemical engineering. As he stokes the flames to heat his experiment. His right foot is pumping the bellows forcing air to increase the heat of the flame. The top of the bellows have a carved incised bat. The sculpture is mounted in a polished variegated beige and sand colored marble base. Weight 25 lbs. Height of the sculpture not including the base 13-1/2 inches. With the base it measures 14 inches. The base is 14 inches long and a little more than 7 inches deep. This is a very rare sculpture guaranteed to please as are all our items.
